Closing vigil — ten days of prayer for the city
Ten mornings of prayer come to a close. One night to give thanks together, before ordinary life picks up again.
About this event
From 1 to 10 September, the church rose every morning at six o'clock to lift Porto-Novo up to God: families, schools, the sick, those in authority, people looking for work, children, those who are on their own, the traders and craftspeople of the market.
On Friday 11 September, we close these ten days with a vigil. It begins at 7 p.m. and runs until 10 p.m., in three parts: praise, a reading of the requests carried through the ten mornings along with the answers received, and then the prayer of consecration for the year ahead.
What to know before you come. The vigil is open to everyone, members or not. Children are welcome: a space is set aside for them at the back of the hall, with two helpers. A shuttle will leave Adjarra at 6 p.m. and bring people home after the blessing — let us know when you register.
For those who cannot travel, the vigil will be streamed live on our channel. The link appears on this page.
Come as you are, and go home strengthened.
