Sunday school is back: registration is now open

Sunday school starts up again on September 7. As it has every year since 2006, it welcomes children from 3 to 14, split into four groups, during the 10 a.m. service.

Registration opens this Sunday at the welcome table, right after the service. Bring your child's name, date of birth and a phone number where we can reach you.

We are also looking for three teachers for the 6-8 group. No experience needed: a two-Saturday training is planned for the end of August, and every new teacher starts out paired with someone more experienced.

If that speaks to you, have a word with Bernadette Sossou or come and see us after the service.

Ten days of prayer for the city, September 1-10

Before activities start up again, the church is setting aside ten mornings of prayer for Porto-Novo, from September 1 to 10, from 6 to 7 a.m. at the church.

Each morning has its own theme: families, schools and those who teach in them, the sick and those who care for them, the city authorities, work and those looking for it, our sister churches in Bénin, children, people who are on their own, the craftspeople of the market, and finally our own community.

Come for one morning or for all ten. If you cannot get there, pray at home at the same hour — the theme for each day goes out the evening before in the newsletter.

A vigil will close these ten days on Friday, September 11 at 7 p.m.
